Passed away the same day as Farah Fawcett. I always wondered if Brooke and Michael's friendship was really real. I feel in some ways that thier friendship was for publicity purposes. by hanging out with Michael Jackson this helped promote Brooke's slumping career- which had it's ups and downs by the mid to late 80's and early 90's. And for Jackson she created the illusion that he had a steady girlfriend. However, i do feel that they really did have a friendship. And this fostered both of thier careers in some way. even if it were a publicity stunt. On the otherhand, i don't know i wasn't part of thier friendship and didn't know either of them... perhaps i am wrong. Finally, it is ironic how brooke disappeared from his life once all the child molestation things surfaced. Perhaps she pulled out because she felt the bad publicity taint her own slumping career- let's keep inmind in the early 90's brooke's career was basically going no where- this was post, "Friends" and "suddenly Susan". Again i am only speculating and i don't know the circumstances of thier fall out. Michael Jackson certainly was a pop icon. And he was aquitted of all child molestation cases. Though he did settle out of court with one case. That in it's self could be an admission of guilt. or, he just didn't want for the case to drag on for years inwhich the publicity further taint his career as well as further drain him financially battling it..... which ever the case he was exhonerated from all charges. Being such, i would like to remember him for the body of works he contributed to the music industry. I mean how many of us didn't have the album, "Off the wall?" with such hits as ,"beat it", "Billy Jean", etc. RIP, Michael Jackson.
